HTML Banners

• Raw HTML text files must not be greater than 2.25K (2304 bytes).

• No more than 2 images may be referenced in the HTML code.

• VBScript, JavaScript, DHTML, or other client-side scripting is permitted only upon approval by Australian SnowzonE.

• All images must be locally referenced (ie src="./images" or src="image.gif") and should not refer to images on external servers.

• The total file size of all images must not exceed 8K (8168 bytes).

• Animated GIFs are accepted. However they should not animate for more than 4 seconds before stopping. No looping is allowed.

• All raw HTML must be checked with weblint. The option "Netscape Extension" is enabled (weblint -x netscape).

• Forms used in the body of the raw HTML banner must use the "GET" form action within the code in order for it to work properly on Australian SnowzonE.

• The footprint of a raw HTML banner must not exceed 468x60 pixels.

• Any URLs referenced from within the HTML must be active. Australian SnowzonE will not link to any dead URLs.

• CGIs reference in HTML code must be active. CGIs found unable to handle the traffic load will not be accepted. Australian SnowzonE reserves the right to test all CGIs.

• All HTML code files must use the suffix .htm not .html

Technical Specifications

Length of Animation

4 seconds maximum. No looping. Yahoo! suggests that, as the banner cannot animate longer than 4 seconds, the last frame of the banner should contain a branding statement or call to action.

No more than 30 characters

Tag text (below image)

No more than 30 characters

Target URL

All URLs must be active at the time the banner is submitted. Australian SnowzonE will not display advertising with dead URLs.

Special Formats

Java banners are currently accepted on Australian SnowzonE on a case by case basis only. Prior approval from Australian SnowzonE is necessary.

Client Side Image Maps are accepted. Map HTML must be provided by the client.

Animation can restart if a user places the mouse pointer within the advertisement area and/or clicks on it. Interaction with the user can only take place if the user places the mouse within the advertisement area.

Audio banners are currently not allowed.

All advertisements will be reviewed by Australian SnowzonE and are subject to approval by Australian SnowzonE before placement on site.

Delivery

Advertising materials must be supplied via email or on disk.

Reference Platform Testing
 
Australian SnowzonE will test all raw HTML configurations against the following reference platform:

• Windows 98

• Internet Explorer 5.0 (or latest Internet Explorer)

• Browser default font (Arial 12 point)

• 15" monitor set at 800x600 resolution

Australian SnowzonE requires at least 5 working days prior to the start of the promotion to review, accept, and process raw HTML files. Only those ads that fully comply with the stated specifications will be run. We reserve the right to refuse any advertisements submitted to Australian SnowzonE
